IRELAND

For contractors bidding in Ireland and Northern Ireland

Two procurement regimes, one bid team, and the same document volume as everyone else.

01

The complication

Contractors working across the island bid under two systems. Public contracts in the Republic run through eTenders under the Irish regime; work in Northern Ireland falls under UK rules, now reshaped by the Procurement Act. Firms that operate in both carry the overhead of both — different portals, different formats, different expectations about what a good answer looks like.

Add cross-border work into Great Britain and it is three sets of conventions for one bid team.

02

What that costs

The volume is the same as anywhere. The difference is that the same team has to hold more than one set of rules in their heads while working through it, and the evidence they need is scattered across submissions written to different standards.

What Blue Edge AI does about it

It checks the response against the specification you were actually sent, whichever regime it came from — the client’s requirements rather than a general template. Past submissions become usable regardless of which portal they were written for.

The regulatory gateway. Load the local legislation once as a knowledge library and every response is checked against it. A consents method written for another country’s statute is used for its approach and corrected for the rules here, for every owner, every time.

A firm doing this already

“We now manage 10 live tenders… previously we could only handle five.” — Head of technology and business improvement, multi-division civils contractor

“We drafted 14 responses in a day — before, that would have taken two weeks and a lot of chasing, discussion, and frustration.” — Head of submissions, multi-division civils contractor

“The last four projects we’ve won 100% on quality using this.” — Head of technology, multi-division civils contractor
