YOUR ROLE
Six roles, six different questions
Every role in a business looks at the same bid through a different lens. Pick yours, and we will keep to what actually concerns you.
01
Choose the lens that fits
The same platform looks like a different thing depending on where you sit. These are the six versions of the argument, each written for the person doing that job rather than for whoever signs the invoice.
-
Bid director
You are being asked to run more tenders with the same team, and to raise the win rate while you do it.
-
Bid writer
You did not ask for another system. What it does, what it does not, and why the difference matters to you rather than to your director.
-
Estimator or engineer
You are not a bid writer. You still have to write the bid, on top of the job you already had.
-
CEO or board
You know the win rate. The number nobody books is the work you never bid for at all.
-
IT and security
Why this rather than the Copilot licences you already pay for, and where the documents actually go.
-
Procurement or CFO
What you are being asked to approve, and how it compares with what the work costs you today.
02
What every role is actually asking
Underneath the six questions there is one. Bid teams do not spend most of their time writing; they spend it looking for evidence the business already owns, scattered through old submissions, technical reports and the memories of people who have since left.
A director calls that capacity. A writer calls it searching. An estimator calls it the reason a tender eats a fortnight. Finance calls it the external bid bill. It is the same thing described from four desks, and it is the part the platform removes.
What stays with your people is the judgement: which risk you carry, what you can actually deliver, and what you know about this client that is written down nowhere.
03
If you wear more than one hat
Most people reading this do. In a business under a few hundred people the bid director is often also the writer, and the estimator is frequently both.
If none of the six is a clean fit, skip them. Bring a tender you have already submitted and we will show you what the system finds in it, which settles the question faster than any page will.
